What level do I need?
Intermediate or advanced level. You must be able to ride independently.
What equipment do I need?
A complete kite, wing, or foil setup. You can also rent equipment from Surf Center Tarifa.
Can I do it if I’ve never done a downwind before?Yes. Ideally, you should go with one or more friends, and you can ask us for advice on safety and weather conditions for the day and time you’d like to do it.
What happens if there is no wind?
The activity is canceled and a full refund is issued, or you can reschedule your Downwinder for another day.
Is it safe to do downwind?
Yes, by sharing your location via WhatsApp, or as an extra option we offer real-time tracking with a Garmin inReach GPS device. Coordination is managed from our beachfront base.
Do I need to book in advance?
YES. Downwinders is a sports experience with coordinated return to the starting point, not a standalone transport service. The recommended minimum booking time is 24 hours in advance.
Can I book a downwinder for today?
You can contact us via Whatsapp to check availability for same-day downwinders.
How long does a downwind take?
A downwind isn’t a race to the final destination. Stopping at safe spots along the way is part of the fun—you can hydrate, rest, and enjoy the journey. Take your time, and you’ll discover spectacular spots that are inaccessible from the shore.
